How to Prevent Drunk Driving Accidents

Driving while under the influence is an extremely dangerous driving practice. Unfortunately, it is done by many drivers today causing severe accidents, injuries, and even fatalities. According to Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), about one in three people will be involved in a drunk driving crash. In addition, one person is killed every 53 minutes due to a drunk driver.

To prevent drunk driving accidents from occurring, refrain from drinking and driving. Call a cab, stay at a friend’s place, or designate a sober person to drive by the end of the night. If your friend is drunk, take his or her keys so that they do not cause a fatal drunk driving accident. To better protect yourself, also drive defensively and be cautious of other drivers on the road. If you see a drunk driver, call 911 immediately. You may prevent an accident and save someone’s life.
