Distracted Driver Causes Car Crash

On Thursday, July 19, 2013, a woman crashed her vehicle when reaching for a cookie that was on the passenger seat. According to police officials, a 61 year-old female was heading east on Route 1 in Hancock around 9:30 AM. The lady was driving a 2002 Subaru Forester when she reached to grab a cookie. While doing so she lost control of her vehicle. The driver had mint chocolate cookies in her vehicle.

The car drifted into the opposite lanes. As a result, the woman over-corrected her mistake and veered to the right. Immediately, her vehicle drove down the embankment on the side of the road and collided into several trees. The property damage to the vehicle is estimating to be over $1,000. Fortunately, the woman was not seriously injured in the accident.
