Seeking Justice for Hit-and-Run Victims

Unfortunately, every day numerous drivers commit hit-and-run crimes. Regardless of your panic-stricken emotions, you should always remain at the scene after a car accident. Many drivers will fail to remain at the scene and flee as they do not want to have deal with the legal repercussions and financial liability.

However, by fleeing a scene you are committing a highly illegal crime that may be punishable by imprisonment depending on the severity of the accident. Your consequences will be far less severe if you remain at the scene rather than flee and be guilty of committing a hit-and-run. To make matters worse, it can be considered vehicular manslaughter if you accidently kill a person and flee the scene.

Always remain at the scene. If someone appears to be injured, call emergency help and the state highway patrol. Only leave until after you receive confirmation from the highway patrol that it is okay to leave the scene.
